"The Dump" screens at Not Like the Others Film Fest

On May 7, Katy's first movie, The Dump, (4-min., b&w 16mm), screened with live organ accompaniment by Cameron Carpenter. The short comedy opened for Buster Keaton's The General (1926).

Carpenter, a young, virtuoso organist who's made waves in the classical music world, played alongside four features and four shorts in May. He's a film lover and does this sort of thing regularly, so visit his website if you're interested!

In 2007 Katy made a short doc, A Day in the Life of a Virtuoso, about Cameron. This summer she's returning to the cutting room to expand it. More updates on that to come.

Young Love and That's My Majesty Leave the Nest

Kid Can Drive has sent Young Love and That's My Majesty out to the festival circuit. YL after it received the expert ministrations of PostWorks' sound designer, Andrey Netboy, and color correctionist, Savvas Paritsis. As they both screen around the country we will be making announcements so be on the lookout at a fest near you.

(Above left) Emily Carmichael [the Kid Who Can Drive] celebrates the end of Young Love, Indy 500 style, late at night in the computer lab at PostWorks. (Above right) Making movies is hard; packing up movies to send to film festivals even harder. Picture the madness at KCD headquarters.
